#WKLoveYourCloset – February Wardrobe Updates for Every Budget

budget friendly wardrobe updates-wellesley and king-@wellesleynking

Loving your wardrobe does not, repeat, DOES NOT have to mean buying something new every single week.

Versatility is at the heart of Wellesley & King, and this year–to illustrate just how easy it can be to restyle your old favorites, I’m starting the month off by highlighting four new wardrobe staples and showcasing their versatility throughout the entire month. (If you missed the January features, you can check them out here). AND, if you’re feeling inspired, join me in this challenge by sharing your looks using the hashtag #WKLoveYourCloset over on Instagram. I’ll share my favorite looks on Instagram stories throughout the month!

How it works

  • At the beginning of the month, I’ll reveal four pieces that I’ll be highlighting that month.
  • Each week, I’ll style one of those featured items in three different ways to illustrate their range.
  • You’ll find three budget options, so that you can incorporate the styles into your own wardrobes, based on your personal budget.
  • At the end of the month, I’ll post a wrap-up post with a survey so you can tell me what you think and make recommendations for future featured items.

February features

Today’s post introduces the four wardrobe updates that I’ll be featuring each week in February. Last month, I styled each piece for work, a night out, and a casual weekend, and I’ll be following the same structure this month. I’ve taken your feedback to heart and–since you all were most interested in seeing stylings for work–I have chosen pieces that are work-friendly all around.

Sweater blazer – I love the idea of the sweater blazer. Though mine is grey, it looks great and even dressier in navy or black (still available in both). It has been the perfect addition to my work wardrobe and is a comfortable piece that looks totally put together when I’m wearing it around on the weekend. I’ve reached for it over and over, and I know that you’ll love it just as much as I do. This was one of my favorite pieces to style, and I really love the way all three looks turned out!

Distressed denim – Distressed denim is one of my absolute favorite things to wear. I wear this pair (most definitely an investment piece) almost every weekend. They make me feel like the coolest girl in school (which, by the way, I am not. AT ALL). Depending on where you work, they can totally be rocked in the workplace.

Bell sleeve dress – Dramatic sleeves continue to be one of the top trends in 2018. We are still seeing them everywhere, which is great because that just means it’s easy to find this trend at any price point. The dress I’m featuring is made my Eliza J, one of my favorite petite brands for work-friendly dresses. The options I’ve found below are just as good, maybe even better!

Pencil skirtHard to think of a pencil skirt for anything but work, but this piece piece is more versatile than you think. This month you’ll see it paired with feminine florals, and edgy leather. I’m really excited with the way these looks came out, and I’m excited to hear which is your favorite!

You can shop all of the featured items at every budget at the bottom of this post.
