If you’re a faithful reader, then you know that I got married just over a month ago (I know! Crazy that it’s been a MONTH already!) Weddings are a crazy time for brides, no matter how much or how little you are doing. There are just SO many decisions to make. For me, one of the bigger decisions was deciding whether to have someone do my makeup, or do it myself. In the end, I decided to do it myself so today I’m sharing some of the items that I consider must-haves for soon-to-be brides.
1.) Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil is amazing stuff (just watch the video!). This is the illuminizing version, and that is what makes it magical. It gives you the most beautiful glow, without adding fake-looking color. It was really important to me that I not be overly tan or sun-kissed. I really wanted to look like my natural self, nothing too overdone. This stuff was perfect–highly recommend it! I did order this one from QVC, and I think it may be a QVC exclusive. Just as a warning, I read the reviews before purchasing and for those of you with more fair skin, it seemed as though the tint may be too dark.
2.) Dior Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet smells as beautiful as the bottle looks! Peony, roses and white musk make this scent super feminine–perfect for a wedding day.
3.) Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Face Brush is THEE perfect foundation brush for giving you the flawless full coverage look many brides are after on their wedding days. You honestly need a tiiiiiiny dab of foundation and it will cover your enter face. The bristles are super soft, and great for sensitive skin (a lot of brushes irritate my skin).
4.) Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit is a two-in-one product that camouflages under-eye dark circles (which you may or may not have after sleepless nights of wedding planning). The concealer covers and blends darkness and the powder sets the concealer for lasting coverage. I use this everyday and love it.
5.) MAC Prep + Prime Lip is, and has been, one of my all-time favorite beauty products. As soon as you put it on, you will notice a difference. My lips are very full and, because of that, tend to be more dry if I slack on keeping them moisturized. This product smooths out any lines and instantly conditions lips. Also, I don’t know how they do it but, my lipsticks really stay put when I apply this beforehand. I’ve gone an entire workday without needing to reapply after using this to prep–great for wedding days when long-lasting wear is crucial.
What are your must-have beauty products, both for brides and for everyday wear?
