How to Wear Sweaters in Summer

Just because it’s summer doesn’t mean that it’s not sweater weather. In fact, our weather in Pennsylvania is fairly unpredictable, which means that just about any day of the year could become sweater weather.

There are a ton of ways to wear sweaters while keeping your overall outfit looking summery, one of which is to keep the colors light and airy. If you’re a longtime fan of Wellesley & King, then you already know that I favor all-white outfits, so today’s look will not come as a surprise.

In spring and summertime, I wear white jeans nonstop. This pair of J.Brand white denim jeans have been done to perfection. The distressing is minimal, and they are unbelievably comfortable. The rise is good for me, but might be a bit low for someone with a longer torso.

Add in some spring/summer colors with accessories: a punchy handbag, colorful scarf, or bright lip color will all do the trick. When fall rolls around, simply swap out the white denim for an army green pair, cognac satchel and ankle boots.

And here’s my happy photographer after a big meal, needing a nap. Isn’t he sweet?

  1. Yes! I’m the sort of person who needs a sweater within reach year-round so I feel like this is just for me. Tell me, are those shoes comfortable because they’re incredible looking!

Thanks, Terra! I love these shoes. I honestly wear them all the time. They’re neutral enough to go with everything and a lot more comfortable and easy to walk in than a stiletto heel. I’ll be honest–they are high, so they’re as comfortable as a super high heel can be, but the block heel makes them very easy to walk in. I really love them. Hope that helps!
