Wear Now, Wear Later: White Jeans

You know that old “no white after Labor Day” rule? Well, I just don’t buy it. White is one of my favorite colors to wear. Especially for a brunette, it really stands out against my skin and hair tones. In fact, a white on white ensemble is one of my go-to’s.

One of my favorite white pieces to wear are my white jeans and, darn it, there’s just no reason they can’t transition into fall. In summertime, I gravitate towards soft muted colors, mostly neutrals in beige, tan or white. When fall rolls around, mixing in rich jewel tones lengthens the wear time of my summer favorites.

In today’s post, I switched out summer trends like this bell-sleeve top, tassel earrings and block heel sandals, for some cooler fall pieces. I purchased this heavy knit cardigan at this past weekend’s ModCloth pop-up shop in Pittsburgh (did I mention how awesome it was to try on their clothes in store? Well it was!). I cannot wait until it comes in. It’s super cozy and also comes in a deep forest green and charcoal grey. I know it’s going to be one of those pieces that I throw on for everything.

Quick note: If you’re in the Pittsburgh area, you should totally check out the ModCloth pop-up shop (open now through the 27th). The girls are really helpful in sizing, and finding pieces that fit your style. It was a ton of fun!

I added riding boots to the “Later” look, but ankle booties would work just as well. Include a leather-banded watch, some chunky link bracelets, and an oversized leather tote for a seasonal look. Another great tip is to try a bold lip color, like this MAC lipstick in Rebel. It’s one of my favorite fall colors, and looks much different on than in the tube.

You can shop all of the pieces I used in the outfits below at the bottom of this post, if you see something you like.

Are you guys transitioning any of your own favorites into fall?
