When it comes to wardrobe etiquette for your corporate holiday party, you want to think: professional attire with a little sparkle. Just like during the workday, off-hours events are not the time for bodycon dresses, mini length skirts/dresses, or super low-cut tops. Remember that, above all, these are still your co-workers and managers, and you certainly don’t want to wear anything that will turn heads for the wrong reasons.
That said, the below are just a few items that are both professional yet festive–perfect options for your holiday office party outfit.
Wardrobe Etiquette for Corporate Holiday Parties
Pumps will always be the go-to shoe of the businesswoman (some offices even have closed-toe only policies). J.Crew is my favorite option for shoes this time of year; they offer a plethora of options from tartan plaid, to pretty velvets, to full on sequins–all of which are precisely the right amount of fun for a professional outing.
Sequined Dress Pants
I love a great pair of sequin pants this time of year; they are so much fun. If you can find a pair in a trouser-like shape (not too tight), and pair them with a long-sleeved button-up blouse, you will certainly maintain a professional appearance while still looking completely festive.
Midi Length Skirts and Dresses
Just like during the workday, you should avoid mini length skirts and dresses for your office party. Instead, look for midi lengths in festive fabrics, like velvet, satin, and lace. Or, like with the dress pants above, find an option sprinkled with sequins or in a metallic color–both of which are undeniably holiday-esque.
A Classic Red Lip
Nothing is more festive than a bold red lip. Even if you’re a minimalist when it comes to makeup, adding a singular bright red lipstick to an otherwise neutral face is going to pull your entire look together. I’m a huge fan of a simple stroke of black eyeliner paired with nothing but a pretty red pout–instant fancy!
