The Closet Staple I Wear With Everything

To me, there is no denying the versatility of this simple, but classic wardrobe staple. A fitted black turtleneck has endless possibilities, be it for work or a night out, with jeans or layered under a dress. Don’t have one? The best part is that you can find one at any price point, making them seriously ideal for every wardrobe. Here are a few ways you can try them out…

With a pair of distressed jeans and oversized sunnies

You guys know this is one of my favorite combinations to wear from this post; it never disappoints. There’s nothing simpler than your favorite pair of jeans, a great pair of black booties, and oversized sunnies (for a touch of glamour). Trust me, you cannot go wrong with this look.

Layered under a classic wrap dress

The black turtleneck is one of my most-worn pieces for work; it’s ability to layer is masterful and I turn to it over and over again for this exact reason. How perfect is it layered under a wrap dress, with a pair of tights and pumps? Professional and chic.

With a long vest and leather pants

When your goal is to look taller (like mine always is), then pairing a fitted black turtleneck with black bottoms, and layering a long vest over top is your secret weapon for added height. It creates an elongated head-to-toe look, giving the illusion of a few (appreciated) extra inches.

With a mini dress and over the knee boots

For those of us no longer in our twenties, it is my humble opinion that mini dresses are best done with balance. Enter the black turtleneck. Its higher neckline and long sleeves provide coverage on top so that showing off that extra leg doesn’t seem risqué.
