When it comes to workwear, these few pieces are perfect for creating a stylish fall work outfit.

I mentioned in this post that my black fitted turtleneck is a closet staple; it seamlessly pairs with so many items in my closet and creates an effortlessly chic look, no matter what. For this piece, I say stock up! I prefer them in a nice cotton, something that isn’t too itchy or warm. This allows for versatile pairings all the way from early fall into late spring.

Right along with a black fitted turtleneck, is a great pair of skinny ankle pants. Skinny ankle pants are fantastic options because you can transition them from flats to heels without having to worry about your hem length. (When wearing bootcut trousers, I prefer a longer length to be worn with heels and elongate the leg.)

Investing in some transitional outerwear–a piece that is lightweight enough to wear indoors but can also take the chill off when outside–is worth every penny. I find that a longer, thigh skimming length is the most flattering–as it creates a long line and slimming effect on most all body types.

Last, be sure to invest in a great pair of sleek booties. You will get unlimited wears out of these, and will always look put together. Find a pair that has minimal detailing: avoid anything super chunky, studded, or printed (though I do love a great pair of leopard booties).

Together, these 4 pieces will ensure that your fall workwear is stylish, yet professional. Click here now for more of my favorite Fall styles!
