After doing some work traveling for nearly two weeks, Arnie and I planned a special dinner date downtown–we decided on Sienna Mercato for those of you from Pittsburgh! It was really nice to try a new place, and this one has been on my list forever. Lauren, a friend of mine from work (you might know her from The Gingerbread Girl), and her husband used to make it a goal to have a date night at a new restaurant once a month, which I always loved. There are many great restaurants in the city, and it seems like more and more keep popping up–which is especially great if you’re like me and love food.

This skirt is the one I originally purchased for our engagement pictures (also seen here and here). I did have it taken in and hemmed, but it was part of the petite sizing from ASOS. It’s exceptionally fun for twirling–and then there’s that bright red. Be ready to stand out! Usually when I wear this skirt, I try to tone it down with a neutral top but, if you’re daring, I am a big fan of the hot pink and red color-blocking combination!

I was hesitant when I got this, my first midi-skirt, as a petite woman. I was worried that it would make me look shorter, but I’ve been really happy with how flattering it is on. Plus, since I usually prefer a more mini length to elongate the leg, the added length in a midi style is easier to move around in without too concerned about coverage–unless you’re twirling, in which case you should still be careful. ; )

Happy Monday, loves! Make it a good one!
