How to Pull Off A Dressed Up Casual Look

Dressed up versions of our casual favorites is, for a lot of us, a way to create comfortable looks that we can be confident wearing. Instead of going totally casual, and possibly risk looking a little too sloppy, a happy medium for most any weekend event is a mix between casual and dressy.

How can you pull off dressed-up casual looks?

  1. Pair heels with denim

A classic trick – pairing heels with denim – is a great way to take your favorite jeans and make them suitable for a casual date night, happy hours with friends, nights out with the girls…. whatever you’ve got going on, this is a great option for taking your outfit to that happy medium.

  2. Mix luxury fabrics with everyday comfort

High-quality fabrics, like this sweater from Anthropologie, alway creates a more refined look than, say, yet a sweater from Forever 21. I love to pair pieces like silk blouses or lace tops, with a great pair of distressed jeans. It can be a great way to mix high and low end pieces together for an overall polished look.

  3. Paint your nails!

One of the simplest things you can do to look put together is paint your nails–and you can do it yourself for less than $10! How many of you see those women around who always have their nails done, and you think, man, she’s got it together. I do my best to switch my polish once a week, and the moment it starts chipping, I just take it off altogether.
