Pleated Dress Styled for a Night Out

Our third January feature is this flowy, pleated dress in a rich, bold color. If you missed yesterday’s post, be sure to give it a read first; the post describes sizing and brand related details for those unfamiliar with the Rachel Parcell label.

Styling for a Night Out

In yesterday’s post, I wore this dress for a typical day at the office–especially now that we’re admidst 60 degree temperatures again in Pittsburgh. With only a few small changes: black tights in place of bare legs, a statement necklace in place of a silver pendant, and suede wedge booties in exchange for nude pumps, I have transformed this flirty trapeze dress from day to night.

My style is, as you know, conservative–not what one would consider daring–but adding black accents is a go-to when dressing up any outfit. No matter what, black will always look dressy and chic.

More ways to wear:

In addition to black, this simple dress plays well with edgier fabrics (like leather and suede) and classic prints (think leopard, stripes and floral). This is a piece you can have fun with, so let your creative side go a bit nuts!
