There’s nothing more fall than layers of plaid, wool and suede. I’ve styled this plaid boyfriend shirt a few ways this season. I like the longer length and the soft fabric that Madewell is great for.

This J.Crew downtown field jacket needed to be pulled from storage and added to the capsule. The temperatures have dropped to the forties this week (what!), and I definitely did not have a warm enough jacket for the cold weather.

I’m definitely looking forward to checking in with you guys at the end of the month because there is a lot I’m learning about this capsule wardrobe process. Topping the list is the fact that, here in Pittsburgh, the temperatures range SO much between October and December. It’s tough to plan out exactly what you’re going to need for cold weather when it’s still nearly 80 degrees.

Adding this coat was the first adjustment I have made to this point–mostly out of pure stubbornness if we’re being totally honest. But the continuously dropping temperatures may force some additional changes in the near future. I’ll be checking in with more detail at the end of the month though!
