My wardrobe is slowly evolving into a sea of bright white lace and eyelet. What can I say? I know what I like.
I stumbled upon this dress while searching for some work-appropriate dresses to add to my wardrobe. It caught my eye instantly; one look at the feminine fabric and eyelet detailing and I knew I had found my new summer love.
The cut of this dress is certainly conservative enough for work, and I definitely intend on wearing it there. This is one of those pieces that I love so much that I’ll wear it just about anywhere.
Notes on fit
I’ve ordered some different dresses from ASOS before, and usually have a difficult time finding the right fit. I have a booty, that’s no secret, and a lot of their fitted dresses are a no-go for me because I can’t get them over my hips. The only styles that I’ve had success with are A-line and swing style dresses, that skim the hip/thigh area, and are not snug in the bum region. I’m wearing this dress in a Petite 2. In most US sizes, I wear a petite 0. When I order from ASOS, even in US sizes, I usually need to go up at least one size. I tried this dress in both the Petite 0 and the Petite 2, and the Petite 2 was more comfortable overall. The 0 was a little bit tighter in the rib area, and felt tighter all around in the chest and arms.
so pretty Lauren! (I too have the hardest time getting ASOS clothing to fit. I’m up a few sizes and usually the non-existent size between sizes…and then have to return everything because it’s tight/loose in weird areas). Glad you had a rare moment where the sun and moon and stars all aligned:)
Oh my gosh, I couldn’t agree more. Sometimes I try things on and think, “Really…you’re baggy HERE?!” And it’ll be some weird extra fabric in the armpit. I don’t get it. BUT, I did luck out with this one, and I’m really glad because I like it so much!
This dress is beautiful, Lauren! I’m also team white lace and eyelet. It’s the best.
Sarah
Thanks, Sarah. And in that case, Team White Lace and Eyelet is made up of a star lineup so far!
