Menswear Preppy

Do you guys have a go-to that you resort to any time you feel like you have nothing to wear?

Every time I feel that way, I end up wearing some version of this (jeans, a blazer and heels). To me, this combination looks chic and put together no matter the occasion. (See other examples here, here, and my first-ever-outfit-post here).

I like the juxtaposition of a structured blazer paired with distressed denim and heels. This is such a classic combination, one that is seen in magazines and on celebrities all the time.

This blazer is an older version of the schoolboy blazer from J.Crew. It’s an XXS, and I always cuff the sleeves to give it an even more casual touch. What I’ve always really liked about this particular blazer is it’s hip length. It hits exactly at the hip, which is the perfect length to elongate my torso. The slight cinching at the waist gives me a womanly silhouette, combating against a totally straight menswear cut.

I’ll usually take a break from my blazers, as I typically favor overly girly details. However, every time I come back to this pairing, I realize just how effortless it is; it’s a combination I don’t think I’ll ever tire of.

Let me know what you guys think of today’s look, and scroll to the bottom to shop the outfit.
