As much love as I have for the LBD, my heart is even more attached to the LWD. And, between weddings and bridal showers, getting my desired wear time out of the LWD can be tough. With the conclusion of this weekend’s Style412 discussion series, though, I had the perfect excuse to bust out this effortlessly chic number, and all of my favorite accessories.
So, why should you own an LWD?
Because it plays perfectly with any color accessories and, unlike it’s harsher counterpart, the LWD always looks soft, and feminine. In a slightly off-white tone, it looks pretty on blue-eyed blondes or, in a stark white, contrasts beautifully against a dark brunette.
You guys know that I’m no stranger to all-white outfits, in fact, they’re my look of choice. I prefer the blank canvas they provide, and the flexibility I have to play with other elements of my outfit.
For this weekend’s look, I pulled out some old and new favorite embellishments that complimented the dress, without detracting from its overall simplicity. With the beautiful high neckline, I opted for only a statement bracelet, with otherwise dainty jewelry in my rings and favorite ear crawlers. I almost never leave home without a pair of sunglasses, and have been swooning over this Karen Walker pair since they arrived on my doorstep (I purchased mine through Amazon – FYI, but they are also available in various retail stores, which I’ve linked below).
While planning this look, my overall intent was to create drama with a bold, smoky eye. (I know, I know, all I keep talking about is the Urban Decay Heat palette, but I sincerely love it!) Knowing that I would be using warm tones in my make-up, the warmth of gold accessories was the right accent. And, while a bold color would work equally well, I wanted nothing more than for this LWD to steal the show.
