SHOP THE LOOK:
Welcome back, guys! How was your weekend?
Ours was equal parts productive and fun, which happen to be my favorite kind of weekends. We met up with some friends for an overdue happy hour on Friday at Tipsy Cow–a modern burger bar on Ellsworth in Shadyside for those of you from Pittsburgh. I could’ve eaten three orders of the hummus and pita bread, it was that good. But mostly, it’s so nice to spend time with friends you haven’t seen in a while, and there’s no better way to end a week than with good conversation and lots of laughs.
On Saturday, Arnie and I visited the last privately owned photography store in the area, Bernie’s Photo Center. I don’t think I can say enough about this store. The associates were so knowledgeable, and so kind. In today’s world of Amazon and Best Buy, it’s so nice to have a real conversation about what you’re buying and receive genuine advice, instead of a sales pitch and pressure to buy. If you are from Pittsburgh and have any interest in photography, I give the highest recommendation to these guys. Next door, you’ll find Photo Antiquities, a photography museum following photography from 1839 to present day. If you or friends are photo enthusiasts, you can visit the museum for $10/person. Arnie and I have been making a point to try new places in the city, beyond restaurants. It’s especially fun when you stumble upon a place like this for an affordable price.
Today’s outfit post is yet another simple look made entirely of classics. You might remember the leather jacket from this post in July. The Caslon Drape Collar Leather jacket received the most votes (between instagram, Facebook and blog comments) when I put it out to you guys for input. I’ve been really happy with the choice. I love that it lacks the hardware of most leather jackets, and instead consists of a clean look with a modern twist in the drape collar. Paired with a v-neck striped tee, distressed skinny jeans and a pair of leopard flats, you can look chic and still be comfortable–the only two things I want from an outfit.
