Yesterday morning was jam-packed with errands, so I was dressing for comfort. I purchased the J Crew downtown field jacket last fall– looking for a substantial coat, but not a heavy winter coat. I decided on the navy, but the J Crew downton field jacket also comes in an army green (called Mossy Brown on the website) which I think is probably a little more versatile. I’ve somewhat regretted not getting that color, but the navy has worked as a neutral as well. (On a side note, I met up with my friend Marissa, who happened to be wearing the same coat (except green) and also a striped shirt with jeans. Unplanned twin days are always entertaining. :))
The J Crew downtown jacket is made of a water-resistant canvas and can definitely stand up to the elements. I got a ton of wear out of it last fall and already see it being in heavy rotation during these colder spring days. I also really like the fit–which I ordered in a 00 petite at first, but then returned for the 00 regular. The petite was too tight for me under the arms with a heavier sweater underneath, and a little shorter in the sleeves than I liked. I consider myself to have long arms so, while I usually need a petite in bottoms, I can get away with regular sizing in tops.
Overall, this J Crew downtown field jacket is, as J.Crew writes, the one every girl needs!
Have a wonderful Sunday!
xo,
Lauren
