Oakland is still probably one of my favorite places in the city, in terms of scenery. I love the Pitt and Carnegie Mellon campuses in the midst of everything and the beautiful buildings that belong to each. Plus, there’s something [bitter]sweet about the enthusiasm of college kids everywhere you look.

I have always loved the lawn in the summertime, mostly because large grassy areas are not abundant in most cities. Oakland is so close to where we live but, for whatever reason, it’s not a place we visit all that often–it is largely university campuses. However, if you are visiting, it’s fun to check out Phipps Conservatory, the Cathedral of Learning, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and of course, the Carnegie Museum of Art and History. For food: Peace, Love and Little Donuts, the Porch and Pittsburgh Popcorn are all within a short walk.

And why not visit the Panther while you’re there? 🙂

Happy Friday!!!
