Another day, another black turtleneck. This has got to be one of my top five most worn articles of clothing. Really, the entire outfit could fall into that category if you just swap in and out different skirts. I actually wore this exact black turtleneck and skirt outfit for Christmas Eve mass and dinner. A cotton turtleneck like this is a staple. It’s conservative, comfortable and you can just throw it in the washing machine until the next wear–doesn’t get much easier than that.

This is the second time you’re seeing this black and white abstract skirt (see the first wear here). I purchased it at our local No. 14 Boutique, one of my favorite shops for feminine pieces in the city. They’ve got their feel down to a science. It’s cohesive, on-trend and adorably girlish. This skirt is a little fancier than I would normally wear to the office, but it’s great for a date night, a show or a semi-formal occasion. The midi length of the skirt combined with the long sleeved turtleneck make it ideal for colder weather.

On a normal work day, I would swap out this skirt for a wool pencil skirt for a more office-friendly feel. The other elements of this black turtleneck and skirt look are easily translatable for a conservative work environment. Add in a few of your favorite gold accessories (like this long necklace to elongate a petite frame, a classic watch and a fun bracelet) and you can add another dimension to an otherwise black and white look.

Thanks, Miranda! And this was a cold one for sure; the snow started two minutes before we went to shoot–talk about bad timing. And this is only the beginning of this weather!

What are you guys going to stay warm during the polar vortex? I can’t wear enough layers! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Speaking of, I linked this down parka on my Poshmark. After our little one arrived, it became even more important to make room for only the essentials—which meant having only one parka (against my will). Great color and quality, per usual, from @eddiebauer for anyone in need! I linked my whole closet in my bio and on the blog to see more!
