Versatile work-to-weekend pieces are one of the number one things you guys ask for, so today’s post features this fall tweek dress two ways–for the office, and for a casual evening or weekend day off.
First, this dress is from LOFT. A few weeks back, they were offering 40% off new items (which they do ALL the time, so please never pay full price!). I mentioned in this post that I’m on a mission to build my repertoire of office-appropriate dresses this fall/winter, so I was happy to stumble upon this cute tweed dress.
Sizing and Quality
I’m wearing this dress in an XXS P. Due to the shape, it does have some extra room, which makes for a very comfortable look. The length is certainly appropriate, falling only slightly above the knee even in the petite sizing. For tweed, the fabric is actually incredibly light, and (I know I already said this) really comfortable.
Styling for Work
For the office, the one thing I seem to say over and over again is that understated accessories make the biggest impact. I could have also styled this with a silk neck scarf, or a long pendant necklace. In general, when it comes to workwear, it’s best to avoid statement jewelry and anything overly eye-catching. I love those pieces as much as the next person–but save them for the weekend!
For work, you could also style this dress with a long-sleeved button-up or a sleek blazer. Both would be equally chic and professional.
Styling for Weekend
What a lot of people don’t realize is how simple it is to take your outfit from work to weekend. It can literally be the difference in swapping out accessories and nothing more. In this look, I got home from work, quickly changed my shoes, grabbed my favorite backpack and hat, and voila! A perfectly casual look. When you choose items with simple silhouettes, it’s very easy to make them work for multiple occasions.
For weekend, this dress would also look adorable with knee high riding boots or ankle boots and a leather jacket!
