The title of this post says it all: you will totally want to live in this shirt.
I tried this on in this post; it had been years since I’d shopped at Express. I honestly didn’t remember much about the quality of their clothing, or how well any of it was made. For a lot of the pieces that I looked at, I did feel like they were overpriced compared to the quality of the fabric/sewing patterns. BUT, I did think they had a lot of nice, trendier items that–if you wait for a sale–would be nice additions to keep your wardrobe current.
I do recall really liking the fit of some of their dress trousers during my college years, and will likely give them another try. Today though, we’re talking about this striped blouse. The fabric of this is incredibly soft; it feels really comfortable against the skin. It’s a longer length, so you can wear it untucked, tunic-style, half-tucked, or (my personal favorite) tied as a crop. It’s a really great twist on a classic–the vertical stripes are on trend and a little different from the horizontal stripes we’re used to seeing on everything. Above all though, it’s the softness of the fabric that really got me. This is a go-anywhere-and-everywhere wardrobe piece.
I previously wore this with my distressed Madewell jeans and Valentino rockstud flats, so today I wanted to try dressing it up a little more. This look is a nice balance between dressy and casual, and could work for any casual dinner out, happy hour, or fun weekend events, like perhaps a comedy club.
