Last week I talked about a few options for great winter outerwear, and this parka is one of my favorites. J.Crew has two available options at very different price points, but both are high-quality and available in extended sizes: petite, regular and tall. The current style at J.Crew has a few colors on sale, but comes in around $365 regular price. J.Crew Factory is selling a nearly identical version for $139, also available in extended sizes and multiple colors. Either one is a great classic style, versatile enough for dress or weekend looks.

I also want to mention the tissue turtleneck I am wearing in today’s look. It has been one of my absolutely favorite basics for work and weekend. I wear this one and my striped version all the time. It comes in so many colors, but I suggest black as your first option, and then mixing in other colors that work with your wardrobe palettes. It really is a very flattering basic for anything from jeans to pencil skirts.

To create the rest of my look:

Pants: J.Crew Factory (same pair available here, and similar pair here) | Turteneck: J.Crew | Shoes: DSW (similar here)

Did you ever notice a problem with the interior lining started to pill? I’ve only worn the coat with jeans and in total about 5 times and each time there’s a newly ruined spot on the lining.

I have not, but I’ve only been able to wear it twice due to the warm weather. I’ll keep an eye out and report back if so.
