Despite how hot it has been, I can’t get fall [fashion] off the brain. I’m ready for cooler weather and some relief from the heat and humidity. Since I’m in the fall state of mind, today I’m sharing how to transition one of my favorite summer staples, my chambray shirt dress, into a fall outfit.
My chambray shirt dress has been on constant rotation this summer. It makes for such an easy outfit. It’s breathable and, most of all, it’s comfortable. I usually pair it with flat metallic sandals and a light-colored tote. I love this dress because it doesn’t require a ton of thought; it works just as well on its own as it does with a few added layers.
For fall, pair it with a heavier knit sweater that allows the collar to show from the top, and the hem of the dress to peek out the bottom. It works just as well with a long cardigan worn open to skim the hem of the dress. Add a simple pair of black leggings or tights, ankle boots or over the knee boots, and a cognac bag to give you the necessary warmth for fall.
There are endless possibilities with this dress; its versatility is just one more reason I love it so much. I’m planning to do a few more posts like this, as fall gets nearer. If there are any pieces you really love for summer that you’d like to see styled for fall, let me know in the comments below.
Thanks for reading, and have a happy Monday!
