Denim + Leather

Skirt: Forever21, Top: J.Crew Factory, Shoes: Nine West via TJ Maxx, Bag: Marshalls, Necklace: J.Crew (not currently online but found in stores), Lips: MAC lipstick in Cyber

Happy Tuesday! We are expecting a day of beautiful weather here in Pittsburgh (almost 80 degrees!). With the warmer weather in mind, I am sharing a fall look that doesn’t require lots of layers.

A faux leather skirt is a little edgier than I would normally wear, but I am pairing it with a denim top to keep it in line with my personal style. I also like the idea of wearing it with a graphic tee and a flat sneaker, or a blouse and cardigan.

Keep in mind, this skirt could very easily cross over from ladylike to trashy if you’re not careful. I would not pair a skirt this short with a tank or super high heel. My general rule of thumb is: if you’re showing skin on one half, keep the other half covered.

Also, I want to mention that a piece like a leather or faux leather mini skirt is not one I would personally invest a lot of money in. Stores like Forever21 and H&M are great for finding trendy pieces like this one, without breaking the bank. For under $20, you can try out the trend and not feel guilty.

For those of you in Pittsburgh, enjoy the sunny Tuesday! Thanks for reading!

(and a very happy birthday to my girl, Risky!)
