It is really starting to feel like fall around here. This week we had our first taste of cool, crisp air; I was thrilled to be able to try out some of my fall outfit pieces, and today I’m sharing a few of my favorite budget-friendly pieces!
First, I love the simplicity of this windowpane vest. I wore a number of longer vests this summer, and I really like the way they can easily dress up a simple outfit. Or, for a totally different look, they can be worn with shorts and skinny dress pants. I purchased this particular vest from Nordstrom and was able to capitalize on their in-store alterations as a result. (That’s such a nice perk for those of us who almost always need tailoring.) This vest is under $25, and it’s going to be great with dresses, leggings, and jeans this fall. I’m really excited about the versatility of this piece.
This dress is from Old Navy, and it actually comes in a variety of great colors, including a simple stripe. I’ve had it for months, and I honestly wear it all the time. It’s such a great price point and, since it’s got some stretch, is really comfortable for just about anything you’ve got going on. I would say this has been one of my most worn pieces all summer long, and I will easily be able to transition it into fall.
These boots are from Free People, and what I consider a “splurge” item. Two things about these boots caught my eye: 1) the suede went all the way down through the heel (as opposed to having a wooden or rubber heel), and 2) they were very thin at the ankle so they should pair really well with tights and leggings.
The rest of my outfit is just made of pieces that I’ve had for a while. I linked similar items below in case you’re looking for the jewelry. I’ve also linked some alternative vest and dress options for you as well.
Dress: Old Navy (under $20!); Vest: Nordstrom (under $25); Watch: Marc Jacobs (current version); Boots: Free People; Bag: Kate Spade Beau Bag (old); Necklace: J.Crew Factory (old – love this simple one, and such a good price!); Lips: MAC in Cyber
I hope you all have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend. My weekend will be spent in my hometown visiting family and friends; it’s been so long, I can’t wait to see everyone! I’m also looking forward to lots and lots of good festival foods. :) Anyone doing anything out of the ordinary?
