Wrap dresses are known for being universally flattering, making them a closet staple to outlast the test of time. Here I’m wearing the Banana Republic Gemma Wrap Dress in the Brushstroke print (PXXS for anyone wanting sizing for reference). I wanted a print versus a solid color, honestly because I thought a print would do a better job of concealing undergarments. Sometimes dresses like this can be a bit clingy, so I figured a busier print would add a layer of camouflage. Keeping the print to black and white is simple, which of course I prefer with a classic piece like this. I got so many compliments on this dress, and it’s so comfortable. I was joking with my girlfriend at work that it’s like wearing a dressier version of my bathrobe. The rayon and spandex blend make it easy to move around in while maintaining it’s chic silhouette. It’s great for accentuating small waists and hiding larger hips–my favorite kind of dress. It’s just a great item to pull out of your closet for a one-and-done look for work with pumps, as I’ve shown here, or for the weekend with flats and a denim jacket.
