As I continue my journey to a cleaner lifestyle, I wanted to share a few of my favorite tried-and-true drugstore beauty products, which have proven that clean doesn’t have to mean expensive. These skin and hair care products have become part of my regular routine, and I’ve been happy with their results–particularly those by Honest Beauty.
I’ve read so many stories of people suffering from rare autoimmune diseases and infertility, who turned their lives around by eliminating harmful chemicals. These stories have inspired me to look at my own life and evaluate how I can reduce or eliminate unnecessary chemicals in my own home, and ultimately live a healthier life.
With that in mind, I’ve slowly started transitioning my household and beauty products to natural alternatives that are equally effective. My goal is to reduce these products in our home by 50% at the end of the year, and continue looking for ways to improve as time goes on.
Beauty was the most natural place for me to start, and I’m now using entirely clean makeup and skincare products. I still have several hair care products to use before I can completely transition those, but it’s a start!
These clean drugstore beauty products are my tried-and-true favorites, and I can now officially pass the recommendations on to you!

7 Clean Drugstore Beauty Products
Hello Bello wipes
I like to use these wipes for just about everything–maybe that comes with being a mom. They’re great for removing makeup, a refresh on hot days, cleaning up messes, and simply as baby wipes. You can find these at Walmart.
Honest Beauty Charcoal Mask
I use this product once a week to deep clean and refresh my skin. I love the cooling feeling of this mask and my skin always feels nice and clean after each use. You can find this at Walgreens, Ulta, and online at thehonestcompany.com
Honest Beauty Milk-to-Gel Cleanser
In a two-step cleanse routine, this cleaner will help to remove any product on your face from the day. Even on days where I don’t wear makeup, I still wear sunscreen, so I use this cleanser to get all of that extra “stuff” off of my face. You can find this at Walgreens, Ulta, and online at thehonestcompany.com
Honest Beauty Gentle Cleanser
I use this cleanser following the gel-to-milk cleanser to clean my skin once all makeup and/or sunscreen is removed. This product has a subtle clean scent and is not overly drying to my sensitive skin. You can find this at Walgreens, Ulta, and online at thehonestcompany.com
Native Body Wash
This product comes in a variety of scents, but I chose this version for a simple, clean option. It does a good job leaving my skin feeling clean without overdrying also. You can find this at Walmart and Walgreens.
Native Charcoal Deodorant
Okay, I’ll be candid with you guys. I have not yet tried a natural deodorant that I find to be as effective as its antiperspirant counterpart, and I sweat. I need something that is going to be reliable. I am currently giving this one a try and will continue using it, but I wouldn’t say it’s as effective as the clinical strength version I usually use. This product is available at Walmart.
Acure Volumizing Shampoo
This is a new addition to my shower routine. I saw this option on Grove Collaborative and decided to give it a try. It certainly leaves my hair feeling clean, but I’m not a big fan of the scent. It has a strong eucalyptus smell. If you like that, you might love this product, but it’s a little too strong for me personally. I am interested in trying the Honest Beauty haircare products but opted to give this one a try first. You can purchase this shampoo online at Grove Collaborative.
Are you transitioning to a clean home, too?
