Though we’re supposedly well into spring at this point, it tends to take the weather a few extra weeks to catch up to the calendar. That said, this oversized turtleneck has been a personal favorite through the transitioning temperatures. It’s perfect without any additional outerwear for those cooler days, but also great for air conditioned buildings. I was drawn to its neutral colors, with the bold black stripe just for added fun. I also love the way the neck creates a feeling of over-the-top coziness. It’s exactly what I want to curl up in during those early spring, chilly days.
Dress It Up
Leather Midi Skirt + Ankle Booties
Truth be told, this look is a little outside my comfort zone. At the same time, it’s made entirely of pieces that I totally love (How many times have we seen this skirt before?! See here, here, and here to name a few.). And these booties always make me feel ten times cooler than I actually am. I felt like adding a cozy sweater to my favorite edgy (or as edgy as I get anyway) pieces added an element of interest that I don’t experiment with. Why not, right? That’s what I love about capsule wardrobes. Once you limit your options to those few favorite pieces, you start mixing and matching in ways you would have never considered otherwise.
Dress It Down
Distressed Denim Jeans + Printed Scarf
If you guys felt like you’ve seen enough of these distressed girlfriend jeans, you may want to stop reading. These jeans are, as you know, my favorites. I wear them constantly and absolutely adore their casual yet cool vibes, especially paired with cozy or feminine pieces like this oversized turtleneck sweater.
I wanted a little bit of something more with this look, so I grabbed an animal print scarf to tie on to my handbag. Still neutral, the scarf is just enough of a print to compliment this simple palette without over-accessorizing. I’m a relatively simple gal when it comes to outfits, in case you haven’t noticed by now.
More Ways to Wear It
- With sneakers and skinny jeans to balance the volume of the sweater with some fitted bottoms
- With bootcut trousers and pumps for the office
- With black faux leather pants and strappy heels
Whatever your favorite choice of bottoms is, give it a go! This is such a versatile piece and [bonus points!] super cozy to boot!
