Fire Engine Red

Focusing on wearing colors that will flatter my skintone is one of my goals for 2017. Though I still favor black and white over almost anything else, incorporating flattering colors like royal blue, yellow and bright red (and avoiding others–like beige) have shown me what an incredible difference color makes for your outfits.

Today’s look is one that I put together to illustrate how well feminine and edgy pieces can work together. These distressed girlfriend jeans are the perfect complement to an eyelet one-shoulder ruffle blouse and heels. Such a look is perfect for a dinner date with your significant other, especially one where you can take advantage of the beautiful spring weather.

Full disclosure: I had to take this blouse back because it was too big (which I think you can actually tell from in the photos). I’m wearing an 0, and the 00 was sold out. Needless to say, this one went back, but I do really love the color, and wanted to share with you guys anyway.

Happy Monday, you guys. I hope that you all had a nice weekend. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather here in Pittsburgh, and my weekend consisted of a few photoshoots of some of my favorite Pittsburgh bloggers (check out how stunning Terra is here.)
