Do you think “weekend style” means leggings, baggy sweatshirts/t-shirts, and old sneakers? It doesn’t have to!
For weekends, one of my favorite things to wear is a great pair of denim, a jacket for weather protection/warmth, and comfortable sneakers. Of course leggings are an easy choice, but I’m a firm believer in not wearing them in public as if they are pants (in other words, if they don’t cover your goods, ladies, you shouldn’t be wearing them out!).
Choose appropriate outerwear.
We’re still in this awkward weather phase where it could snow, rain, or hail at any given moment. That said, you’ll want some outerwear that looks intentional for dressing down. We talked before about investing in outerwear, and it can make all the difference, so don’t skip this step!
Invest in a flattering pair of jeans.
Jeans are great for weekends. They’re comfortable, flattering, and a good pair can suck you in in all the right places. Lately, I’m opting more for high waisted denim and feel a sense of nakedness if I’m wearing a low or mid-rise. Loosely tucking in a t-shirt or sweater is another great trick to give you a defined waist (and also looks less sloppy than letting things hang untucked).
Find comfy (but cute) sneakers.
Sneakers are really affordable, and so easy to swap in and out. I love this pair for spring, and I’ve been eyeing up these babies because they look super comfortable!
